What is chutney, anyway? Well, chutney's is a condiment used in South Asian cuisines that’s become popular in America, also. And it’s no wonder—usually containing a peculiar but complimentary spice and vegetable/fruit mix, chutneys are a unique and flavorful way to enhance any dish.
Mrs. Picky’s chutney is a fruit relish of apples, apple cider vinegar, peaches, sugar, golden raisins, onions, and select spices. Her tangy, sweet blend is making a name for itself as “the other BBQ sauce.” Try it on pork, poultry, fish or lamb, in curries, on grilled tofu, as a dipping sauce, mixed in chicken or tuna salad, blended in your meatball or meatloaf mix, whisked in your salad vinaigrette, stirred in rice to make pilaf, on top of potatoes, blended with sour cream as a dip, inside grilled cheese or peanut butter sandwiches, with cream cheese on top of a bagel or served with crackers as an appetizer, poured over baked brie, ice cream, or cake, spooned inside phyllo dough with nuts and cheese. And one word: paninis. Your condiment drawer just got a whole lot more interesting.
Mrs. Picky does it right: all natural, no high fructose corn syrup, and no preservatives. Her marmalades and chutneys are also gluten and nut free. So spread on, good folks, spread on!
